12 Hour Quilting Project at Trevathan’s in Hillsdale

Lori Venturini attended a 12 hour quilting project at Trevathan’s Sweep and Sew Shop (517-437-5555) in Hillsdale. They have a wonderful modern spacious classroom where quilters can bring their own machines and have the space to complete a project without all the distractions of home.  21 ladies participated in this project and several of the more experienced quilters did not need the allotted 12 hours to complete the project in downtown Hillsdale.

trevathansAn argyle pattern was chosen as the project. The participants then chose the materials they would use to create the argyle quilt. Some were done in reds, some in pinks, and I noticed a stunning quilt done in black and white. The quilters sewed while instructers gave assistance and workers were on hand to do the ironing.

It is always nice to have friends around who enjoy the same type of project. Similar projects are available quarterly, or groups of 10 or more can make arrangements for a private event at Trevathan’s on a mutually available date.
